Affordable Housing Campaign

We have been granted the opportunity to purchase our future complex center, which is an abandoned building that sits on 10 acres of land, in which we need $625,000 to purchase the property and start our $26.1 million dollar affordable housing project that caters to low-income and marginalized communities. It will include the expansion of our successful parental & youth development programs and serve as a haven and healing center for those who often suffer in silence.

Your vehicle donation can be picked up within 48 hours.

We accept all vehicle types.
For tax purposes, you will receive a receipt for the appraised value of your vehicle (if can we donate it to a single parent) or the sale price (if it's inoperable or too expensive to repair).  Trust that we'll make it convenient for you.
 
We only do FREE pickup for vehicles located in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas (within 100miles). Other arrangements will  be made for vehicles located outside of those states.

All donations made to The Independent Parent are tax deductible, and all accepted donations will benefit the mission of our organization.

What we do

How do I donate my real estate or vehicle?

After submitting  your information on the form below, you will be contacted by a member of our team to gather more information about your donation.  Based off the information received, our team will then complete its review of the property or vehicle and draw up necessary paperwork to begin closing out the transfer of your donation.

What are the benefits to my donations?

Your immediate benefit is having freedom from the responsibility of holding on to and maintaining property that you no longer want. We take the burdens completely off your hands while you are able to receive a tax deduction for donating to a nonprofit, and you are also benefiting a family in need with your contribution. It's a win-win at no cost to you.


Will you use all real estate and vehicle donations?

All donations that are approved through our review  process will be used for the benefit of enforcing our mission. To determine if we can actually use your donation, complete the form below and a member of our team will follow up to gather more information about your donation.

How long will it take to finalize paperwork from my donation?

For vehicles it typically takes 24-48 hours to arrange for a pickup. We look at the year make model mileage and condition of your vehicle, in which you will receive a temporary receipt when your vehicle is picked up and your actual donation receipt in the mail within 3-6 weeks. 

For real estate we'll run a standard review on the property, including title search, tax and lien search and environmental violations search to determine if we can accept your property. Once it is determined if we can actually use your donation, we will communicate with you primarily electronically and will send you all closing docs-including your donation receipt- within 3-7 weeks. .

  

Does it matter what condition my vehicle or real estate is in?

We accept most vehicle types whether they are operable or not. You will still be able to receive a tax deduction for the donation of the vehicle, which goes towards benefiting the organization's mission.

Real estate can be in any physical condition however it must undergo our preliminary review by our team to determine if the organization will benefit from your donation,

What happens to  my real estate or vehicle after I donate it?

Our team of professionals will thoroughly assess your donation to determine the value and the best route to take in benefitting the organization's programs, which are designed to benefit single parents families. 



How do I claim my donation as a tax deduction?

You will receive a receipt for the appraised value of your donation. Tax deductions are in alignment with IRS guidelines- please check with your financial advisor or the IRS for more information on how to assess the fair market value of your donations.
